Cathy M’s 100 days

Cathy M’s joy

Cathy M · Helena, Montana

Marty and I did lots of walking the past few days getting ready to go to CA for brother Will’s 70th celebration! Marty still makes me laugh after 50+ years. We laughed a lot, and for a change we laughed over his comical goof ups while we packed. Kind of like Lucy in I love Lucy!😅

Wellll, except for walking all over the stores shopping I didn’t take a real “walk” but walked a lot. More than a mile for sure. I have been thinking of you Lisa, off and on all day. Partly because many family members are making plans to convene in Boise in October for Riley’s big day. They get to see you and all of your beautiful family! Partly because I often think of you when I am doing a lot of walking during the day and send healing light and joyful thoughts your way.(I’m sad to miss the festivities in Boise, and seeing you, but happy to be going to Guatemala to help build a school in a small community.) This 100 days of Joy is such a positive thing. I love your updates and upbeat attitude. I was feeling lax yesterday & I took a rest day & that brought me joy. It is so refreshing to rest deeply. Love and hugs.💞

Rain, rain and more rain…it has been a while since we had a good soaking. I’m so happy about it and mother earth is too!

Today much of the smoke cleared, & the temps were cooler for being outside. Being able to see blue sky and clouds instead of smoke made me smile! Then when I returned to the house I checked what the gardeners had accomplished while I was away. Wow! What a pleasant surprise to see they were able to complete all I had requested & THAT made me smile!

Sending love to you Lisa and to your family as well. I imagine these are difficult times for all of you. Yet, you continue to find your joy. Today I took a walk downtown and coming back reminded me how fortunate I am to be so close to some of the things I love about my little town, that I don’t have to drive to get there. Which then made me wonder what today’s prompt might be for this day of joy, leading me to realize just how uplifting the prompts and walking are…:and on to other joyful thoughts….🤔😋🙏😘

One tiny victory is opening up this link and logging into it. I think of you every day Lisa, what you must have to scale down to for your victories. What a difficult and incredibly personal journey this must be. I’m so happy you have chosen all of us to walk along with you on your journey.💞 sending you love and healing light.🙏🌟

Looking forward to the help I’ll be getting to tackle some projects I’ve been wanting to complete.

Began the day picking raspberries. I love that I have such an abundant crop this year. I can freeze some and share some and they are so delicious. As I pick I love seeing the waterfall peeking through the plants in the pond and hearing its babbling as it falls. I feel so happy to be able to enjoy this verdant space and share it with family and friends. I always forget the pics. I’ll include one tomorrow.😋

Altho I didn’t get a lot of activity in today I must say I am very grateful to be able to get out of bed today and every day to greet the day and be happy for my mobility!🥰😎

Thinking about my sister Mary…sending her thoughts of strength and compassion and love. And you too Lisa as you both walk such difficult paths. 💞

Waking up to a cool damp morning and the sweet mountain air after a nights rain.

Sending love to you Lisa. I believe that love can heal all things. Love is joy and you are spreading joy and reminding all of us to love and look for things to be joyful about. Today picking raspberries in my garden & sharing them with my neighbor brought me joy as did sitting on my patio and listening to the delicate notes reverberating in the wind off of my Corinthian bells. Not as much walking today-tho relaxing in the shade basking in the sounds of nature fed my soul. 😍💞

Oh my…I am so bad at logging in and sharing - the past 3 days I did walk a good deal. I just haven’t scheduled in a walk. On Thurs I walked almost 2 miles, on Friday 3, and yesterday I walked over 2 miles. Most of my miles have been in or because of my gardens, which bring me so much joy. Watching the swallows dart around our country place catching bugs is a delight. The cool mornings are such a sweet contrast to the hot days. On Thursday I heard the Elk cows and calves calling to each other as they bedded down for the night in the trees across the road. Last night I enjoyed Shrek again at the community theatre in Helena. Aidrian is a character in the play. And when we got home to Corbin could hear the coyotes howling close by. Beauty is all around me, in the flowers blooming, the rustle of the aspen leaves and wind through the cottonwoods, the musty scent of the wet earth and pine forest after an afternoon shower. It is so easy to find beauty in nature…but friends and family also add

Watching Aidrian’s director scenes at Grandstreet Theatre in Helena tomorrow night with Clem, Tessa, Marty & maybe Andy They grow up soo fast!

Walking around our place in Corbin makes it easy to clock up the miles. I would tell Lisa it is amazing how strong you are, out taking your walks too. Power on! A photo from the front yard here…it is a bit smokey but the Elkhorn Mtns are still nice to see! Sending love and hugs!

Keep the joy flowing Lisa and know there are loads of people sending uplifting thoughts and healing energy your way. Even if they aren’t walking a mile. Miracles DO happen!💞

Yesterday I walked and moved and stretched and bent for over two hours picking the abundant raspberries in my patch. Think I picked a gallon at least and have them freezing and still plenty more to pick and eat in the coming days. The sweet scent of the dogwoods and petunias in bloom brought me joy. I often forget to post on the actual day 🙃

I’m grateful to my sil Andy for picking up and delivering our waygu beef today.

Today I found joy in repairing my watering system so I don’t have any wayward spouts. I had to trek up and down our hill multiple times turning it off and on for every zone. I clocked over a mile just doing gardening and drip lines. So nice to be outdoors! I walked over 3 miles yesterday doing all my various activities, it brought me joy to see and feel the results of my labor. But a couple things I really appreciated was having Clem at the house and out of town visitors.

I got my walking in, in Butte today at the Montana Folk Festival. Watching & joining so many people all having fun brought me loads of joy, and really did make me smile! I got 3 miles of walking and dancing and reflected on how many people you are influencing to find joy every day, and that made my heart smile. 🥰

Smelling the pines on my walk up the boy scout trail just a few blocks from our house brought me joy. Such a sweet earthy aroma….and getting the window AC installed by Clem and Andy made me smile. It is in and done!
